There’s a discussion going on over at Search Engine Roundtable as to what the new P pin is for on Google maps. The discussion came up after Marc Zwygart posted a screen shot over on Google+. None of the folks that Barry had a chance to ask before the article published were able to give an answer however with a little sleuthing before my radio show today on WebamsterRadio.fm it turns out it’s pretty much exactly what you’d guess. When I entered the phrase “parking” into Google Maps I got the following map:
All the pins with a P are for parking lots. Searches in various cities around the web including my own Victoria, BC showed the same.
So now you know … on Google Maps: P is for Parking.
